Report: Player allegedly wanted by Paratici is now top of Juventus summer wishlist

According to CalcioMercato, Juventus have set their sights on a summer deal for AS Roma winger Nicolo Zaniolo, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks.

It was reported earlier this month that Fabio Paratici is an admirer of the 22-yer-old and that Roma could be willing to listen to offers for the player in the summer starting from around £34m (Calciomercato.it).

Sky Italia subsequently claimed that Spurs ‘dream’ of snapping up the Italy international in the summer and partnering him with Harry Kane.

However, CalcioMercato have now suggested that Juve are set to push ahead with a move for Zaniolo in the summer. The report claims that the Roma winger is at the top of Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini’s list of targets.

It is explained that while Jose Mourinho’s side have not put the player up for sale, they would have to cash in on him if he does not sign a contract extension at the Stadio Olimpico.

CalcioMercato add that the Old Lady are thus optimistic of being able to open negotiations with Roma for Zaniolo soon.

Spurs Web Opinion

Zaniolo was undoubtedly one of the brightest talents in Italian football before his ACL injury last season.

If Spurs are convinced of the 22-year-old’s fitness, Conte might believe he is the man to get the winger back to his best.

However, I would not be upset if we miss out on the Roma man, given the obvious risks involved with his signing.
