Report: Player Ange Postecoglou is said to like could be a free agent soon

Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that rumoured Tottenham target, Jota, could now terminate his contract with Al Ittihad.

Jota left Celtic to join Al Ittihad in the summer but things have not gone to plan for the winger at Saudi club as he has been frozen out of the first-team picture by manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

It was reported by 90 min in the summer that the Saudi Pro League club were contemplating offloading the Portuguese star, with Tottenham said to be alerted by the situation.

It was subsequently confirmed by journalist Graeme Bailey on the Talking Transfers Podcast that the winger, who worked with Postecoglou at Celtic, was offered to the Lilywhites in the summer.

Jota could soon be a free agent, Postecoglou likes him

If Galetti’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham could be handed another opportunity to sign Jota ahead of the January window as the player could soon become a free agent.

The journalist took to social media to claim that Al-Ittihad have decided that the 24-year-old will not play for the club until January and that the attacker is now evaluating whether to start talks over a contract termination.

With Ivan Perisic out injured, perhaps Postecoglou would want one more wide option added to the squad. However, I personally think Bryan Gil is more than good enough to fill that void and I am excited to see how the Spaniard does in our new system.
