Report: Player “doesn’t rule out” sensational return to Spurs

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is having yet another injury-ravaged season as he has failed to be available for a consistent run of games. While the Welshman has still registered 12 goals and 6 assists so far this season, the fact that he can’t be relied upon to be fit for a long spell has been the source of much frustration for Madrid.

Bale has been instrumental in ‎Los Blancos’ four Champions League wins in the last five years, which included a sensational overhead winner in last year’s final against Liverpool. However, Bale’s time at the Spanish giants has been a story of ‘what if’ as he has repeatedly struggled to keep himself fit.

According to Marca, the 29-year-old attacker hasn’t ruled out a return to Spurs next summer. The report claims that Madrid are hoping to use Bale to sign Christian Eriksen whose contract with Spurs will be down to its final year at the end of the season.

Bale, of course, enjoyed tremendous success during the 6 years he spent in North London before moving to Madrid in the summer of 2013. There is no doubt that the Welshman will be an amazing coup for Tottenham, and could flourish in the current Spurs set up.

However, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will break the bank to sign a player who will turn 30 this summer and has such a poor injury record in recent seasons.
