Report: Player Spurs ‘really like’ could be on the market in January

CalcioMercato have now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur target Weston McKennie will leave Juventus in 2023.

It was Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici who brought McKennie to Juventus from Schalke in 2020 but the attacking midfielder has never managed to live up to his potential in Turin.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported last year that Antonio Conte is a big fan of the USA international and considers him to be ‘the new Arturo Vidal’.

The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Spurs during the summer transfer window, with 90 min claiming in July that the North London club were contemplating moving for the attacking midfielder.

However, McKennie stayed put at Juve over the summer and has been in and out of Massimiliano Allegri’s starting eleven so far this season.

If CalcioMercato’s latest update is to be believed, the former Schalke man is now set to say his farewell to Juve.

It is claimed that the Old Lady will listen to offers for McKennie when the transfer window reopens in January. The report states that Tottenham ‘really like’ the midfielder.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Paratici is a fan of McKennie and multiple reports seem to indicate that Conte likes the American as well. We could do with a player of the 24-year-old’s profile, especially if Conte decides to adopt a 3-5-2 more regularly. So, I can see Spurs making a move for the Juve star in January.
