Report: Spurs-linked Dele Alli replacement splits from agent

ESPN are reporting that rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target, Jesse Lingard has parted ways with agent Mino Raiola amidst reports of a possible move away from Old Trafford.

It was reported in September that Jose Mourinho wanted to bring Lingard to Spurs as a replacement for Dele Alli, who has fallen down the pecking order in North London.

The Times even reported at the time that the Manchester United midfielder was open to holding talks with Spurs, but the move did not materialise.

Reports now indicate that Alli will be looking for an exit route from North London in January (Telegraph) but it remains to be seen whether Mourinho will want to bring in a replacement for the 24-year-old.

ESPN now reveal that Lingard’s future is up in the air after he parted company with Raiola and decided to hand his affairs over to family members.

The England international has been out for the last few weeks with a hip injury, with his only two appearances this season for the Red Devils coming in the EFL Cup.

Lingard’s current contract runs out next summer but it is unlikely that Spurs will be able to snap him up on a free transfer, with ESPN reporting that United have the option to extend his deal for another year.
