Report: Player wanted by Paratici and Conte ‘destined’ to leave Serie A club

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by CalcioMercato), Franck Kessie is destined to leave AC Milan amidst strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs were being linked with a move for Kessie in January even before Antonio Conte’s appointment was confirmed last week.

The Telegraph have claimed that the Milan star was one of the players the Italian had told Tottenham to bring in.

According to 90min, despite facing plenty of competition for the 24-year-old, Spurs believe that Conte’s arrival could help them clinch the deal for the midfielder.

The Ivory Coast international’s current deal runs out at the end of the season and the Rossoneri have so far been unable to convince the player to sign an extension.

Gazzetta’s latest report now suggests that Kessie is ‘destined to say goodbye’ to the San Siro. It is stated that negotiations between the midfielder’s entourage and the Milan hierarchy have ‘long stalled’ and that the player’s ‘destiny seems to have been written’.

The report adds that Fabio Paratici and Conte have a ‘strong interest’ in Kessie.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is not surprising that Tottenham are looking at Kessie given his contract situation. However, what appears unclear is if we are looking to do a cut-price deal for the Milan star in January or sign him as a free agent next summer.

One would likely expect Milan to look to move him on in January as they would not want to lose him for free in the summer.
