Report: Player wanted by Spurs ‘has no intention of leaving’ club

According to a report from The Sheffield Star, rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Aaron Ramsdale has no intention of leaving Sheffield United this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Hugo Lloris will be at Spurs next season, with the goalkeeper only having 12 months left on his contract.

The Frenchman has been linked with a reunion with two of his former Spurs bosses in Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho, at Paris Saint-Germain and Roma respectively.

One of the options that Tottenham are rumoured to be eyeing as a potential replacement for Lloris is Ramsdale, who sealed a £18.5m return to Sheffield United from Bournemouth last summer.

However, The Sheffield Star suggest that despite the Blades’ relegation from the Premier League, Ramsdale is keen to stay put at Bramall Lane.

The report asserts that the 23-year-old will reiterate his desire to stay at the club amidst the speculation surrounding his future.

The goalkeeper, who was called up to the provisional 33-man England squad ahead of the European Championship, is said to be valued at £40m by Sheffield United.

Spurs Web Opinion

It remains to be seen what Paratici’s plans are regarding our goalkeeping situation. I do not see us spending £40m on a goalkeeper under any circumstances this summer given the shortage of transfer funds and the need for reinforcements in other areas of the pitch.
