Report: Poch believes this Spurs youngster can become one of the best in Europe

Tottenham Hotspur may soon have to look at replacing their incredible central defensive duo of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

The two Belgians are now both over the age of 30 and each have just a year left on their current contracts, so it is unlikely they will be around for the long-term.

However, Pochettino clearly believes that he already has a worthy replacement within his ranks in fellow Argentine Juan Foyth.

The 21-year-old played 17 matches in a Spurs shirt last season, a pretty impressive number for a young and relatively inexperienced centre-back.

While Foyth has shown his promise and talent on numerous occasions, he has also shown the raw side to his game with two conceded penalties against Wolves and a red card after two minutes against Bournemouth.

Nonetheless, Football London claim that Pochettino believes Foyth will eventually become one of the very best central defenders in Europe, and that he is part of his plans next season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I am a big fan of Juan Foyth, but I do question his ability to play as a centre-back. His slight frame and his desire to take risks on the ball hints towards a future at right-back of defensive midfield in my mind.
