Report: Poch interested in French left-back this summer

Tottenham Hotspur will surely be looking to reinvest some of their 2018/19 season earnings this summer after securing a top-four spot in the Prem and reaching the Champions League final.

While Pochettino has struggled with the right-back position this season, with Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier enduring below par seasons, left-back has been less troublesome.

Danny Rose has recently refound some of his best form in a Spurs shirt after coming back from an injury and moving past his own personal mental health issues.

Rose has looked like a man reborn of late, wearing his heart on his sleeve and passionately performing in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Left-back would, therefore, seem a strange position in which to spend money this summer for Poch, but L’Equipe claim the Argentine is keen on Everton’s Lucas Digne.

The Daily Star reported this same link last month, adding that Danny Rose could move the other way in a summer deal.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I have loved watching Rose again over the last few months, and he has been my man of the match more often than not of late. I would be disappointed if Pochettino chose to invest some of his money in that position, unless it comes in the form of left winger-come-defender Ryan Sessegnon. Spurs should focus on right-back, central midfield, playmaker, and striker this transfer window. Rose has years left in him at the top.

Everton also only signed Digne last summer on a five year deal for £18m from Barcelona (BBC).
