Report: Pochettino booed by PSG fans amidst rumours of Premier League return

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, who has been linked with a possible return to the Premier League, was jeered by Paris Saint-Germain fans ahead of the Ligue 1 giants’ 3-1 win over St Etienne on Sunday.

Tottenham reportedly tried to bring Pochettino back to North London last summer before eventually appointing Nuno Espirito Santo (Evening Standard).

Over the last two weeks, multiple sources (The Telegraph and The Times) have claimed that Daniel Levy will look to bring the 49-year-old back to the club if Antonio Conte leaves in the summer.

The Argentine is also thought to be on Manchester United’s shortlist to take over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season (ESPN).

The Daily Mail claimed last week that Real Madrid are also eyeing the former Spurs boss as a potential replacement for Carlo Ancelotti in the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat.

Manchester Evening News and HITC have now revealed that Pochettino was booed by PSG fans at Parc des Princes amidst the speculation linking him with an exit from the French capital.

It is explained that when the 50-year-old’s name was read out on the loudspeakers ahead of the clash against St Etienne, it prompted an angry reaction from the PSG fans.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if Pochettino manages to win the Champions League with PSG this season, I do not see him staying at the Ligue 1 club next season. I suspect that he would want to return to the Premier League and that he is eyeing the Man Utd job.
