Tottenham Hotspur have until 5pm on Thursday to recruit any new players before the transfer window closes.

Despite the North London club having smashed their club record transfer fee at the start of last month following the signature of Tanguy Ndombele and the arrival of highly-rated teenager Jack Clarke, there have been no other incomings.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino has already snubbed the opportunity to sign three players who were offered to him by the hierachy at Spurs.

Pochettino recently launched a public outburst when he claimed that he is no longer involved in transfers at Spurs — and called for his title to be changed from manager to coach (Guardian).

The Spurs boss sits on a transfer committee along with with chairman Daniel Levy, chief scout Steve Hitchen and head of coaching and development John McDermott (Telegraph).

The report did not stipulate which players were at the heart of the potential transfers that Pochettino has decided to snub.

It is certainly going to be an interesting and tense few days.

  1. Poch seems to have become a drama queen. Always threating to leave, saying he has nothing to do with transfers or signing, which isn’t true. I feel like he is looking for an excuse to leave. Maybe he thinks he is to good for Tottenham.

  2. if there is any truth to this then I would hazard that it is highly likely that these are not the players that Pochettino actually considers he wants! And is probably why he’s making notable statements about his position within the club,Levy would be wise to listen here!
