Report: Pochettino is now ‘waiting’ for a call from fierce Tottenham rivals

The Sun claim that Mauricio Pochettino is ‘waiting’ in the wings to take over at Chelsea if Graham Potter is sacked.

Pochettino has been without work since parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and there have been suggestions over recent weeks that the Argentine could return to Tottenham amidst uncertainty over the future of Antonio Conte (Dean Jones – Done Deal Show).

The Sun now claim that the former Spurs manager could actually end up taking over at the Lilywhites’ London rivals, Chelsea.

Graham Potter has failed to impress since replacing Thomas Tuchel at the helm of Stamford Bridge, with the Blues currently languishing in tenth place in the Premier League table.

The Sun state that Potter is under huge pressure and could be sacked if he does not turn results around before the end of this month.

The report asserts that Pochettino is open to taking over from the former Brighton boss, with the Argentine having spent a lot of time in London since leaving the Parisians in the summer.

Seeing Pochettino take over at Chelsea would certainly leave a bad taste in Spurs fans’ mouths and it looks like a realistic possibility at the moment.

If Potter does not manage to turn things around soon, Pochettino is the obvious candidate for Boehly to turn to as the Argentine and Thomas Tuchel are the two big-name managers who are currently out of work.
