Report: Pochettino keeping a close eye on potential Premier League return

According to a report by the Daily Mail, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is keeping a close eye on the developments at Old Trafford and is keen on becoming the next Manchester United manager.

The Argentine has been linked with the United job previously, with some former players having called for the club to appoint him in the past (The Telegraph and Metro).

He was said to be one of the favourites to take over when Jose Mourinho was sacked by the Red Devils in December of 2018 (the Telegraph) but the club decided to appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer instead.

Spurs decided to part ways with Pochettino and his coaching staff in November after an extremely poor start to the campaign.

Despite how things ended at Tottenham, the former Southampton and Espanyol boss is still highly regarded across Europe.

Pochettino recently admitted that he was ready for his next challenge following his departure from North London (BBC).

Spurs Web Opinion

Our performances since Pochettino left have basically proved that he was right when he talked about the need for a painful rebuild. While the way things ended with Pochettino was sad, I genuinely believe the time had come for both parties to move on after five and a half years together.
