Report: Pochettino made request to Lloris after Spurs sacking

Mauricio Pochettino’s abrupt sacking last Tuesday certainly came as a surprise to most Spurs fans.

The Daily Mail revealed that the Argentine was let go so swiftly that he didn’t have a chance to meet his players in person to say goodbye.

Tottenham’s former assistant coach Jesus Perez even posted a picture on social media the message Pochettino and the coaching staff left for the players in the dressing room following their dismissal.

The Daily Mail has revealed that the former Spurs boss contacted club captain Hugo Lloris and asked him to send a text message in the players’ WhatsApp group inviting all the players to the Argentine’s house in order to be able to say farewell in person..

It is claimed that Lloris, who is currently sidelined with a dislocated elbow, is one of the players who are closest to Pochettino. He along with the likes of Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane reportedly took up Pochettino’s offer and went to see him at his house after his dismissal.

Spurs Web Opinion

After all that Mauricio Pochettino has done for the club, it certainly doesn’t sit well with me that Daniel Levy didn’t give him a chance to personally say goodbye to his players. However, from the stories coming out about the dressing room after the Argentine’s dismissal, it looks like the Spurs chairman had no choice but to let the 47-year-old leave.
