Report: Pochettino may have been handed another problem at right-back

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been handed another problem at right back as it has been revealed that Davinson Sanchez is unlikely to return to training until today (Thursday).

Sanchez played at right back against Arsenal but Poch may not see him as a contender for Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace with just two days of prep.

Against Arsenal, Sanchez looked lost at times as he struggled to adapt his game to the new position. He rarely got down the wing in an attacking sense and was skinned more times that he would care for while defending.

However, he is one of the few options Spurs had left for the position after Keiran Trippier was sold and KWP was injured.

On the plus side, not having Davinson Sanchez available may force Pochettino to use Jan Vertonghen at centre-back again, who he has been reluctant to start much so far this season.

Serge Aurier is available for the game but apparently wants to leave the club. This would explain why he hasn’t featured so far despite the crisis at right back.

Spurs Web Opinion

Not having Sanchez available against Crystal Palace is a blow considering our injury crisis. However we should have the players available to still get three points. Hopefully Poch can show that the disappointing start to the season was just a blip.
