Report: Pochettino on three-man shortlist for top European job

Tottenham Hotspur have come a long way in their five years under current boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Since the Argentine joined, Spurs have consistently bridged the gap between Champions League spot challengers and top European regulars.

Despite not winning a trophy in this time, Spurs have finished in the top three of the Premier League for the last three season, and are in the Champions League semi-final this time around.

These achievements only become more impressive once you factor in that Pochettino has purchased a single new player in well over a year.

It should not be a surprise that Poch is, therefore, being linked with other top European jobs, especially with his previous links to Real Madrid and Man United (Express).

However, The Express now report that AC Milan manager, Gennaro Gattuso, is soon for the sack, and the Italian giants have placed Poch on a three-man shortlist to replace him.

Pochettino joins ex-Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, and current Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The idea of Pochettino leaving at this point in his Tottenham career is crazy. If you ask me, the club are looking forward to their first full season in the new stadium, they are in the semi-finals of the Champions League, and Poch will likely be given money to spend this summer. After five years of building, why would Pochettino leave when he is finally on the verge of winning major silverware? Especially to go to a club like AC Milan. I expect Pochettino to remain at Spurs for many years to come.
