Report: Pochettino one of two names being lined up for job with European giants

According to ESPN, Mauricio Pochettino is one of two candidates that Paris Saint-Germain are considering appointing as their next manager, with pressure continuing to mount on Thomas Tuchel.

The PSG job is one of three that the former Tottenham Hotspur boss has been linked with most heavily over the past couple of months, with the Real Madrid (OkDiario) and Manchester United (MEN) hot seats being the other two.

However, both Man Utd and Real Madrid have seen an upturn in form over recent weeks and it seems unlikely that either Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Zinedine Zidane are going to lose their jobs any time soon.

ESPN claim that Tuchel’s situation is different as the German coach’s job is on the line following the lacklustre start that PSG have made to their season.

The report suggests that the Ligue 1 giants’ hierarchy are not pleased with the team’s lack of identity and their overreliance on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

It is claimed that Pochettino is highly thought of in Paris while former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is the other candidate for the job as the Italian is close to PSG sporting director, Leonardo.

Spurs Web Opinion

It appears increasingly unlikely that Pochettino is going to return to England, which is a positive as it would be painful watching him don the colours of another club. I believe the United job is the one he has had his eye on for a long time but it does not look like Solskjaer is going to be sacked any time soon. Having waited more than a year to get back to work, I would expect Pochettino to accept the PSG job if it is offered to him.
