Report: Pochettino sends spies to watch Portugal star

Tottenham Hotspur may look to make up for their two straight transfer-less windows in the summer by splashing the cash on some new faces.

This will come after Spurs make the move to their expensive new stadium, although it remains to see whether they will bring money-making Champions League football with them.

Spurs became the first Premier League club in history not to sign a single new player across a whole season this year, with their last acquisition being Lucas Moura back in January 2018.

One player Spurs are said to be looking at is 19-year-old Benfica ace Joao Pedro Neves Filipe, also known as Jota.

The Daily Star claim that Pochettino send spies to look at the player, while A Bola claim scouts went to watch Jota play against Dynamo Zagreb.

Jota can play in a variety of attacking positions, and is seen as a rising star for Portugal, with a buy-out clause of £25m.

However, Benfica are attempting to have that raised to £85m.
