Report: Pochettino set for crunch talks with first team star over potential sale

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is reportedly set for crunch talks with first team right-back Kieran Trippier over a possible departure this summer (Football Insider).

What a difference a year makes, as Trippier was the talk of the town in the summer of 2018 after putting in multiple sensational performances for England at the World Cup.

Tripps was one of the very best right backs in Russia, even curling home a delightful free-kick early on in the semi-final against Croatia.

However, after a sub-par season for his club, Trippier has been heavily linked with a move away from North London, and even England in general.

Recent reports have stated that Italian giants Juventus and Napoli are fighting over a £25m deal for the right-back this summer (Mirror).

It now seems as if Trippier will sit down for a meeting with Pochettino to discuss his role at the club for next season or whether he will be sold.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would love to see Serge Aurier pushed out the door first and foremost, as I believe he has never shown any kind of potential to become our first choice right-back. I believe that over Trippier’s 113 club appearances, he has shown more than enough to warrant a second chance after an injury-hit season.
