Report: Pochettino to extend olive branch to out-of-favour player this season

Football Insider have reported that Spurs manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is willing to extend an olive branch and give Victor Wanyama another chance this season.

The Kenyan midfielder has dropped down the Spurs ranks like a stone over the past year, with a number of new players coming in through transfers and the academy.

Meanwhile, Wanyama has been hampered with bad injuries and saw his proposed move to Club Brugge this summer fall short.

Daniel Levy was said to be left fuming as Wanyama decided to turn down the chance to join the Belgian club at the last minute to remain at Spurs (Football Insider).

However, the midfield man now has the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Christian Eriksen, Giovani Lo Celso, Oliver Skipp, and more between him and the starting line up.

The 28-year-old was on the bench against Aston Villa on the first day of the season and will be hoping to regain a spot in the squad in the near future, if he can get his fitness levels up.
