Report: Mauricio Pochettino ‘waiting for the call’ from club about management job

According to a report in OkDiario, former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is willing to take over at Real Madrid and is ‘waiting for the call’ from the club.

Pochettino was linked with a move to Manchester United last month, with MEN reporting that the Red Devils hierarchy had contacted him with a view to replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 48-year-old is also said to be on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, with Thomas Tuchel coming under increasing pressure (talkSPORT).

However, it seems as if it could be the Real Madrid job that opens up first for the Argentine, with major question marks around Zinedine Zidane’s future.

OkDiario report that, should Los Blancos not progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League, the Frenchman could be on his way out of the club.

The report claims that the former Tottenham boss will be the first man the Madrid hierarchy turn to, should they part ways with Zidane. It is asserted that Pochettino is ‘liked a lot’ by the Real Madrid leadership.
