Report: Pochettino wants as many as six new players in squad overhaul – including these positions

The Times have reported that Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign as many as six new players to overhaul his current Tottenham squad.

This comes after Spurs have taken just three wins from 12 in the Premier League this season, were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Colchester United, and humiliated 7-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen, and Toby Alderweireld are all out of contract at the end of this season, meaning Poch may lose three of his senior squad members.

The report states that he wants at least three new defenders, a new holding midfielder, and two attacking players, including one striker.

This is apparently without taking into account the threat of senor players like Harry Kane leaving the club.

If Pochettino managed to convince Daniel Levy and pulled off these signings, it would certainly make a huge statement in North London.

Spurs Web Opinion:

In my view, this kind of overhaul was needed last summer and is definitely needed now. If Poch isn’t given the money to bring in five or so new players, then his hands are tied and he should walk away.
