Report: Pochettino’s relationship with Spurs man ‘could be key’ to a possible transfer

According to Sky Sports, out-of-favour Tottenham midfielder, Dele Alli looks up to former boss Mauricio Pochettino as a father figure and the pair’s relationship could be key to any potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain this month.

Alli has been on the fringes of the Tottenham squad so far this season, with Jose Mourinho even criticising the 24-year-old publicly for his performance against Stoke City last month.

The England international looks as though he has his work cut out to win his place back in the Tottenham team and reports have suggested that Pochettino wants to reunite with him in Paris.

Sky Sports have now revealed that Tottenham are reluctant to let Alli go this month as they want him to stay and fight for his place.

However, it is claimed that sources close to the Spurs star have said that Pochettino was crucial in helping the former MK Dons man to mature both on and off the pitch.

Alli reportedly believes that his career is at a crossroads amidst his recent struggles at Spurs.

Here’s what was said about the Tottenham man’s future on Good Morning Transfers on Sky Sports News:

If it were up to Alli, one would presume that he would want to reunite with Pochettino at PSG as he does not look likely to get much of a look-in at Spurs. However, the possibility of the deal going through depends on how willing Tottenham are to loan the midfielder out. I certainly cannot see PSG meeting Levy’s asking price for Alli this month.
