Report: Police probing major security breach during Tottenham game

The Sun have revealed that police are currently investigating a major security breach at Craven Cottage ahead of Fulham’s clash against Tottenham last week.

The report reveals that two men managed to get past security and sneak into the ground on Wednesday, the day before Tottenham’s trip to the stadium.

A mobile phone was reportedly found taped to the table used by presenter Jake Humphrey, as well as pundits Rio Ferdinand and Steve Sidwell, during BT Sport’s broadcast of the game.

The phone was discovered a day before the game and the police were notified. A review of the CCTV footage is said to have revealed that two individuals wearing suits sneaked into the stadium and left without being challenged.

The police have not made any arrests so far and, although the motive still remains unclear, it is not thought to be terror-related.

The Sun also reveal that Premier League clubs are on high alert right with fears over organised criminal gang potentially targetting different stadiums as part of a gambling scam or an extortion bid.
