The Telegraph have revealed that Son Heung-min’s surgery on his eye socket has been successful and that the Tottenham star is in line to be fit for the World Cup.

The South Korean reportedly sustained four separate eye socket fractures as a result of the collision.

The Telegraph explain that Son was initially planning on having the surgery over the weekend but it was moved forward to Friday to give him the best chance of being fit for the World Cup.

The report reveals that the Spurs medical team feel that the procedure went as well as could be hoped.

The outlook in Son’s camp is now said to be positive regarding his chances of featuring in Qatar. South Korea get their World Cup campaign underway with a clash against Rodrigo Bentancur’s Uruguay on 24 November.
