Report: Positive update on Rodrigo Bentancur and his Spurs return date

Tottenham fans should not have to wait too much longer to see Rodrigo Bentancur back on the pitch and earning his first minutes under Ange Postecoglou.

The midfielder ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee way back in February against Leicester City and has not yet appeared for his new manager.

Fortunately, the Uruguayan is reportedly now in the ‘final stage’ of his recovery from the ACL injury, meaning he has around one month left before he can return to action.

Rodrigo Bentancur is almost back from injury

Football Insider report that Bentancur is ‘closing in on a return’ and should be ready by ‘the middle of November’, so everything is on track and on schedule for Tottenham.

This could be perfect timing for Spurs, as both Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are likely to head off to the African Cup of Nations in January, meaning Spurs will require midfield reinforcements.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Having a midfield trio of Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, and James Maddison will be huge for Postecoglou. Not to mention that I think Bentancur is the only press-resistant replacement Spurs have for Bissouma in the pivot role when needed too.
