Report: Postecoglou has already told fringe player he is not part of his Spurs plans

Estadio Deportivo have pointed out that Bryan Gil’s decision to stay at Tottenham in January has not paid off, claiming that Ange Postecoglou has been clear with the winger that he is not an important part of his plans.

The report explains that there was no shortage of interest in Gil during the last transfer window, with the likes of Fiorentina, Real Sociedad, Feyenoord and Brighton & Hove Albion all showing interest in the player.

However, the 23-year-old allegedly decided to stay in the hope of winning over Postecoglou but the decision has backfired. It is said that the Australian has told the player that he does not count on him.

The outlets states that Gil’s situation has ‘gotten worse’ in recent weeks and the player has now made up his mind to leave Tottenham at the end of the summer.

The report adds the Spain international dreams of returning to Sevilla but it is not revealed if the Andalusian side are interested in re-signing the winger.

It is time for Tottenham and Gil to go separate ways, with the winger needing to have a fresh start in order to get his career back on track.

While there has never been any doubt over the 23-year-old’s talent, he just never seemed entirely at home in the Premier League, although the Spaniard will probably argue that he did not get enough opportunities to prove himself.
