Report: Postecoglou is set to receive a mammoth summer war chest to spend at Spurs

Football Transfers have said that Tottenham Hotspur could spend a whopping £250m this summer as they look to add significant reinforcements to their squad.

Tottenham have been one of the busiest clubs during the last two transfer windows, with the Lilywhites being the biggest spenders across the Premier League in January (The Athletic).

There is no doubt that the club needs several major additions if they are to close the gap with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal and it has already been reported by various sources that Spurs want to get most of their business done early in the window (Fabrizio Romano –  Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel).

Postecoglou to be handed a massive war chest

Football Transfers have now suggested that Tottenham are prepared to make a real statement this summer by backing Postecoglou in a major way.

The outlet suggests that the Australian will be handed a whopping €230m-€290m (£200-£250m) to spend on new signings.

The publication adds that around €64m (£55m) of that fee is expected to be used to fund a move for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who has expressed a willingness to join the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

Postecoglou’s summer budget will depend on several factors, including the money raised from player sales and Champions League qualification.

While one would expect Spurs to be one of the biggest spenders of the summer, owing to their relatively comfortable position with respect to FFP, a net spend of £250m seems like a major stretch.
