Report: Postecoglou wants Spurs to sign former Arsenal winger this summer

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry this summer.

Gnabry was on Arsenal’s books from 2011 to 2016 but it was only after his move to the Bundesliga that the attacker started to fulfil his potential, evolving into one of the best in his position.

The pacy wide-man has been a key feature in Bayern’s starting lineup for many years but that has not been the case this season under Thomas Tuchel, with injuries not helping his cause.

Tottenham like the look of Serge Gnabry

Football Insider have now said that Tottenham are ready to offer Gnabry a route back to English football, with the Lilywhites said to hold a ‘concrete interest’ in the winger.

The report suggests that since the 28-year-old’s current contract at the Allianz Arena only runs until 2026, Bayern would be willing to listen to offers for him this summer.

The publication adds that Ange Postecoglou is an admirer of the German international and believes that his ability to play across multiple attacking roles would be beneficial for Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Gnabry is put up for sale by Bayern, one would expect plenty of clubs to express interest in the winger. However, Spurs do have a good relationship with Bayern following the Kane and Dier deals and they could perhaps look to use that to their advantage to get a deal for the 28-year-old over the line.
