Report: Postecoglou wants to bring another former Chelsea flop to Spurs

Fichajes.net have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing a move for Portuguese superstar Joao Felix next summer.

During January, Spurs secured the services of former Chelsea forward Timo Werner, who has certainly hit the ground running in North London.

It has now emerged that Ange Postecoglou has set his sights on another forward who failed to hit the expected heights during his spell at Stamford Bridge.

Felix spent the second half of last season on loan at the West London club but failed to set the world alight, with the Blues deciding against signing him permanently last summer.

The 24-year-old, who is owned by Atletico Madrid, was loaned out to Barcelona last summer and he has not particularly impressed at Camp Nou either, with just four goals to his name in 18 league appearances so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham sense opportunity to sign Joao Felix

Fichajes have now said that Spurs have now entered the race for Felix’s signature, with the Lilywhites prepared to give the striker a chance to rejuvenate his career.

It is alleged that Postecoglou is driving Tottenham’s interest in the Portuguesa international, with the Australian of the opinion that the forward will prove a major ‘coup’ for his side.

The report adds that Aston Villa are also circling around Felix but as things stand, the forward’s hopes are thought to be to remain at the Catalonian club beyond the end of this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can see Felix clicking under Postecoglou as the Australian will take the pressure off his shoulders and allow the striker to express himself. Given the 24-year-old’s struggles at Chelsea and Barca, Atleti are unlikely to demand a huge fee for him. I can see this transfer rumour having some legs.
