Report: Postecoglou wants to bring former Spurs employee back to the club

The Scottish Sun have revealed that Ange Postecoglou wants to bring Celtic analyst Greg Wallace with him to Tottenham Hotspur.

Postecoglou signed a four-year contract at Tottenham on Monday and the 57-year-old is now set to embark on the biggest challenge of his coaching career so far.

He will have to reshape the squad during the summer transfer window and get his ideas across to a set of players who have been accustomed to a counter-attacking approach over the last three years.

It was reported a few days ago that Postecoglou wants to bring Celtic coaches, John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan, with him to Tottenham, with both expected to be handed ‘key roles’ at N17 (Daily Record).

Reports over the last 24 hours have revealed that although the Glasgow giants are reluctant to let Kennedy leave, the 39-year-old has made it clear to the club’s hierarchy that he wants to follow Postecoglou to Spurs (Daily Mail).

The Scottish Sun have now claimed that it is not just Kennedy and Strachan who the new Tottenham head coach wants to bring with him but also an analyst, Greg Wallace.

The report states that Wallace had previously worked at Hotspur Way and could now be set for a return to North London.

Postecoglou has generally not tended to take his backroom staff with him to different clubs but the fact that he seems to be keen to do so here, suggests that he is well aware of the difficulty of the task that lies ahead and wants all the help he can get.
