Report: Potential boost for Spurs as Fiorentina find possible Vlahovic replacement

According to Calciomercato, Fiorentina have identified Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca as a potential replacement for Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serie A outfit are currently bracing themselves to lose the 21-year-old, with his contract at the club expiring in the summer of 2023.

Vlahovic burst onto the scene for the Viola last term and has carried that momentum into the current campaign, sitting on 12 goals from 14 appearances so far.

Tottenham are said to hold a firm interest in the Serbia international who is valued at €80 million (£67m), with Antonio Conte allegedly identifying the striker as an option to bolster his squad going forward.

However, Spurs could be set to receive a boost in their chase for Vlahovic, with Calciomercato reporting that Fiorentina have already found a potential replacement in Scamacca should he depart the club.

The Sassuolo hitman, who made his senior Italy debut in September, has been on Fiorentina’s list of targets since the summer, after the club were inundated with interest for Vlahovic.

The report claims Inter Milan are also keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, who has tallied on three occasions in Serie A so far this season.

Fiorentina seem as though they are resigned to losing Vlahovic with the end of his contract starting to edge closer, and the fact they are looking at replacements indicates that. The news will serve as a boost for Spurs, who will likely intensify their interest in January.
