Report: Potential boost for Spurs as PL rival reluctant to pay price for starlet

The Daily Mail have revealed that West Ham United are reluctant to pay the fee Bristol City want for rumoured Tottenham target Alex Scott.

Scott has emerged as one of the best young talents in the EFL over the last two seasons and a move to the Premier League looks inevitable for the young midfielder this summer.

GiveMeSport reported back in March that Tottenham are one of a whole host of Premier League clubs to have enquired about the 19-year-old’s availability ahead of the summer transfer window, along with the likes of Newcastle United, West Ham United and Wolves.

The publication claimed that Bristol have accepted that he will leave the club to join a top-flight side in the summer and they valued the starlet at £25m-£30m.

The Mail have now also reported that Nigel Pearson’s men have told interested clubs that they would have to pay £25m for Scott.

The publication names West Ham and Wolves as the two clubs eyeing a move for the midfielder but asserts that the Hammers are ‘reluctant’ to pay the aforementioned fee for the teenager.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we miss out on Scott this summer, I believe we will come to rue it just as we have on our inability to conclude deals for the likes of Jack Grealish, James Maddison, Jarrod Bowen and Eberechi Eze when they were in the Championship.

The Bristol starlet looks destined to reach the very top level and the fact that he is a Spurs fan (The Guardian) and available for a modest price, makes the deal very doable.
