Report: Potential return to London on the cards for Nabil Bentaleb

According to a report by German website Fussball Transfers, former Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb could make a return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace said to be interested in his services.

Bentaleb came through the Spurs youth set up and was handed his debut by Tim Sherwood. He excelled in his first year and a half with the Spurs first team and looked set for a lengthy career at the club.

However, the midfielder was sold to Schalke in the summer of 2016 after falling out with Mauricio Pochettino (The Independent).

While the 25-year-old was a regular in the Schalke team in his first few years at the club, the report claims that he has now been ostracised from the first team due to his involvement in some internal issues at the Bundesliga outfit, who are willing to allow him to leave on loan with an obligation to buy.

The 25-year-old has reportedly been tasked with finding a new club and is said to prefer a move either back to England or France.

Two Ligue 1 clubs are said to be interested in signing the former Spurs star along with Palace and Italian giants AC Milan.

Spurs Web Opinion

I actually rated Bentaleb quite highly and thought he would have gone on to become a top player at Spurs had he not been sold. He has everything in his game to evolve into a top box to box midfielder but sadly his relationship with Pochettino got cut short way too quickly. If he does join Palace, then the move could potentially help him get his career back on track.
