Months after Tottenham’s first bid for Giovani Lo Celso, it looks as if they are close to getting their man once and for all.
Spurs bid £53m for the Argentine way back in May at the start of the transfer window, but it took until this week for them to finally agree a fee with Real Betis (BBC).
The deadline for incoming Premier League transfers is set for today at 5 pm, meaning that Spurs now have under five hours to get the deal over the line.
Standard Sport now claim that Lo Celso has arrived for his medical today with Tottenham, meaning that a final deal and announcement could be pretty close.
Lo Celso would be linking up with fellow Argentine, Mauricio Pochettino, as well as his international teammates, Juan Foyth, Erik Lamela, and Paulo Gazzaniga at Tottenham.
The Guardian report that Tottenham will be paying £55m for the playmaker this summer. All those months for the sake of £2m… really?
