Report: Prem rival out of deal for Spanish star – leaving door open for Spurs and Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Dani Ceballos this summer, with Estadio Deportivo reporting that the club were closing in on a deal earlier this month.

Ceballos would likely be seen as a replacement for Christian Eriksen, who expressed his desire to leave Spurs in search of a new challenge last month (Ekstra Bladet).

However, Ceballos may only be a short-term solution, as the player himself does not want to be sold this summer and clearly believes his future lies at Real (Onda Cero).

Sky Sports reported in the last week that official talks had opened between Real Madrid and Spurs over a potential deal.

Football London, however, added that Tottenham would only be interested if they were able to get the playmaker on a permanent deal or a loan with an option to buy.

The Daily Star claim that Liverpool have pulled out of a deal for the exact same reason, as they are unwilling to take the star on a temporary basis, leaving the door open to Spurs and Arsenal. Marca even say that Arsenal have overtaken Spurs in the race.
