Report: Premier League club aim to fight to keep player from joining Spurs

TEAMtalk have revealed that Crystal Palace want to fight to keep hold of Ebereche Eze even as Tottenham Hotspur circle over the attacking midfielder.

The speculation linking Eze with a move to Spurs has gone into hyperdrive recently, with Football Transfers reporting just last week that the Lilywhites had stepped up their pursuit of the player.

It was explained that while Man City are also interested in the England international, who is valued at €64m (£55m), Spurs have an advantage over Pep Guardiola’s men as the midfielder prefers to remain in London owing to his family ties.

Crystal Palace will fight to keep Eberechi Eze

According to TEAMtalk, Palace are determined to do all they can to keep Eze at the club as they believe they are in the beginning of an exciting new era under Oliver Glasner and do not want to lose any of their best players.

However, the outlet says that the Ealges’ chances of retaining the silky midfielder are slim, with Tottenham said to be ‘firmly in the race’ for his signature.

The publication adds that Spurs are huge fans of Eze are expected to back Ange Postecoglou this summer, with Palace not likely to be able to compete with the sort of salary that the North Londoners can offer the player.

Palace will likely demand a fee of around £60m from Spurs for Eze. While one can argue that the midfielder is worth that amount, some at Tottenham might perhaps have apprehensions over spending such a big amount on the 25-year-old, given his injury issues over the last two years.
