Report: Premier League club could land Spurs player in cut-price £5m deal

According to a report in The Shields Gazette, Newcastle United could snap up Danny Rose in a cut-price deal this summer.

Rose has been a regular feature at the back for the Magpies since making a loan move to St James’ Park in January and is showing signs of rediscovering his old form.

It was not long ago that the left-back was rated among the best in the world and was thought to be worth around £50million.

However, Football Insider reported a month ago that Spurs could sell the defender for as little as £5million this summer partly due to the fact that he just has a year left to run on his deal.

The Shields Gazette now back up that claim and report that the Lilywhites will be ready to part ways with the long-serving defender for as little as £5million with his time in North London likely to be over.

It is claimed that the Magpies are interested securing permanent deals for Rose along with former Spurs midfielder Nabil Bentaleb.

Rose’s admitted earlier this month that his days at Tottenham are numbered (The Mirror).

I have been impressed with Rose’s displays since the restart. He has shown that he can still be an excellent left-back on his day when his head is in the right place. However, it looks pretty clear that we are likely to cash in on him this summer. Hopefully, he can keep his good form up until the end of the season and we can get a bidding war going for him.
