Report: Premier League club have submitted new offer to Spurs for midfielder

Football Insider have claimed that Everton have made a new offer to Tottenham Hotspur for Dele Alli in the hope that the North London club will forgo the £10m clause in the midfielder’s contract.

Dele has made 13 appearances for Everton since his switch to Goodison Park almost two years ago, with the deal thought to include a series of performance-related payments.

One of these is that the Toffees owe £10m to Spurs if the former England international makes 20 appearances for the club.

Sean Dyche stated back in September that Everton may re-enter talks with Tottenham over changing the structure of the deal (Liverpool Echo).

The former Tottenham man has been out with a muscle tear since the summer and it was reported by The Telegraph a couple of days ago that has made tentative steps in his recovery, with Dyche planning on reintegrating the 27-year-old into the squad.

The outlet added that Everton’s director of football, Kevin Thelwell has thus reached out to Tottenham already to try and restructure the deal.

Everton make new offer to Spurs for Dele Alli fee

If Football Insider’s latest update is to be believed, the Toffees have already submitted a new offer to Spurs for the attacking midfielder.

The report asserts that the Merseyside club are ‘offering Tottenham a seven-figure sum’ but does not reveal the exact value of the bid.

It is clear that Everton are not going to play Dele seven more times if Spurs decide against restructuring the deal as they would not want to pay £10m for the former MK Dons man.

So, one would expect both clubs to come to a fresh agreement sooner rather than later so that the midfielder can get on with his career.
