Report: Premier League club make contact with Mauricio Pochettino’s representatives

The Manchester Evening News have claimed that Manchester United have approached former Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino with a view to him replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club’s next manager.

Pochettino made an appearance on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football earlier this week, where he admitted that he is ready to make a return to management, after almost a year away from the game since being sacked by Spurs last November.

MEN claim that the Argentine has been eyeing the Old Trafford hot seat for a while and his stance as still not changed, with United officials having spoken to his representatives about potentially taking over.

The move is said to be prompted by United’s poor run, which has seen them lose four of their last nine matches.

Although Solskjaer is said to have the support of the board, who are still hopeful that he can turn the club’s form around, it is revealed that the loss to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League on Wednesday has left them concerned.

The report suggests that United could part ways with the Norwegian and appoint Pochettino should they fail to get a decent result against Everton this weekend.
