Report: Premier League club not expected to make offer for Harry Kane this summer

Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur continues to generate plenty of speculation in the media after it was claimed earlier this month that he had once again told the club that he wants to leave this summer.

Sky Sports previously reported that news of Kane’s desire for a fresh challenge had resulted in Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all making contact with the marksman’s representatives to express their interest in taking him off Tottenham’s hands.

The Daily Mail have claimed that one potential door for Kane may have shut with Manchester United not expecting to make an offer for the England striker this summer.

Rather than offer £120million for Kane, the Old Trafford outfit are instead likely to make a attempt to land Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and wait a further twelve months to bring his team-mate Erling Haaland to the club.

Edison Cavani’s one-year contract extension has bought United some time in seeking a long-term option in attack, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer plan which he hatched with director of football John Murtough shortly after the Europa League final defeat to Villarreal having seen Kane left off the shopping list.
