Report: Premier League club prepared to sell Spurs-linked defender

According to Eurosport, Chelsea are ready to listen to offers for Antonio Rudiger when the transfer market reopens in January.

Tottenham reportedly made an attempt to sign the centre-back during transfer deadline day last month (Football Insider) but the move failed to materialise, with Spurs instead making a move for Swansea City’s Joe Rodon.

The German international has continued to struggle for game time at Stamford Bridge, with the 27-year-old yet to make a single appearance in the Premier League during the current campaign.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein recently revealed that Chelsea were willing to do business with Tottenham during the last window but it was Rudiger who rejected the chance to move to North London on loan.

The centre-back reportedly thought it might be problematic for him to return to Chelsea after a loan spell with their London rivals.

Eurosport claims that Frank Lampard’s side could part ways with Rudiger, with the defender said to be keen on finding an exit route from Stamford Bridge.

The report suggests that his former side Roma could try and take him back to the Italian capital.
