Report: Premier League club preparing move for 28-year-old Spurs player

Fulham are reported to be preparing a move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga ahead of the new season, according to The Telegraph.

Gazzaniga’s chances of playing for Tottenham have been complicated further by the arrival of Joe Hart, who joined the North Londoners earlier this month on a free transfer after leaving Burnley in June.

Former Spurs midfielder Scott Parker, who guided the Cottagers back to the Premier League at the first attempt is said to be prepared to give the 28-year-old the opportunity to compete against Marek Rodak and Marcus Bettinelli for the number one jersey.

The Argentine featured 25 times in all competitions for Tottenham last season and stepped up to the starting eleven to cover for Hugo Lloris after the Frenchman dislocated his elbow in the 3-0 defeat at Brighton in October (transfermarkt).

At 28, Gazzaniga needs to be playing regular first-team football rather than being a third-choice keeper.

His departure could mean that Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin could provide the third layer of cover needed.
