Report: Premier League club ready to sell Spurs-linked midfielder in the summer

According to talkSPORT, Wolves are planning on cashing in on rumoured Tottenham target Ruben Neves at the end of the current season.

Tottenham completed their first signing of the January transfer window on Wednesday, announcing that Arnaut Danjuma had joined on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season.

The North London club are also expected to snap up Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon within the next day or two (Fabrizio Romano).

It remains to be seen whether that marks the end of Spurs’ transfer business this month, with Alasdair Gold stating on Football.London last week that the Lilywhites plan on strengthening in the central midfield area next summer.

One player they could turn to is Neves, with 90 min reporting last week that the Portugal international is on the radars of both Tottenham and Liverpool.

If talkSPORT’s latest update is to be believed, Neves is set to be on the market at the end of the season as Wolves have decided to offload both him and his compatriot Joao Moutinho in the summer. The publication does not mention Spurs but states that the 25-year-old is on the radars of both Barcelona and Liverpool.

Spurs Web Opinion

Neves is one of the few central midfielders who would thrive in Conte’s 3-5-2 system, which requires both central midfielders to be good at all phases of play. If Conte does extend his contract at Spurs (which seems like a big ‘if’ at the moment), I would not be surprised if the Italian looks to upgrade on both Skipp and Hojbjerg in the summer.
