Report: Premier League club will ‘push’ for ‘unlikely’ transfer of Spurs player

Manchester United are expected to push Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to sign Harry Kane this summer, but the Red Devils are resigned to the fact it will not be an easy transfer to facilitate.

Kane is now entering the last year of his current contract with Tottenham, and speculation over his future is mounting day by day.

The situation at Tottenham Hotspur makes it difficult to predict where Harry Kane will be playing football next season.

Spurs are currently without a manager and a Director of Football, and have just come off the back of a dire campaign which saw the club finish in eighth place in the Premier League.

Another season without a trophy, and the prospect of no European football next season, leaves Kane with a decision to make on his future.

Manchester United have long been mooted as a possible destination for Kane this summer (Daily Star), but the Premier League side look to be facing competition from Real Madrid now (AS).

According to the latest from The Telegraph, Manchester United have not given up hope of signing Kane, but they understand just how difficult it will be to get a deal across the line.

Manchester United are expected to “push” ahead with an attempt to sign Kane, but are under no illusions that the transfer is “unlikely to happen.”

Kane is thought to be “hugely admired” by Erik ten Hag, and has been described as the “ideal signing” for United.

The club hopes bringing in the 29-year-old could be a positive for the young English players in the squad, most notably Marcus Rashford, who has a “good relationship” with the England captain.

Alongside this, the Red Devils hope their return to Champions League football will have “strengthened their hand” when it comes to persuading Kane to jump ship from Spurs and sign for a domestic rival.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Kane is moving anywhere this summer, it’s Manchester United.

He has the Premier League goals record in sight, and is very settled in his personal life at the moment.

Whether Daniel Levy will allow the move to happen or not, however, will be the decisive factor.
