Report: Premier League club yet to make transfer decision on defender wanted by Spurs

Watford are yet to make a decision on the future of rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Pervis Estupidan, according to a report in Expreso (as translated by Sport Witness).

The left-back is yet to make an appearance for the Hornets since signing for the club four years ago but his reputation has been rising in Spain thanks to his performances in various La Liga loan spells.

After previous spells with Granada, Almeria, and Mallorca, the fast full-back has been particularly impressive during his time at Osasuna this campaign.

Sport reported back in May that Tottenham had made an enquiry about the 22-year-old’s availability, while Barcelona (La Razon) and Manchester United (AS) have also been backed to make a move for the Ecuadorian international.

Expreso now reports that Watford are set to recall him this summer despite the initial loan agreement with Osasuna running until next year.

The report claims that the Premier League side have been impressed with Estupinan’s displays this season and want to take a closer look at him.

It is suggested that Nigel Pearson’s side are yet to make a decision on whether to use the left-back or cash in on him this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not surprised that many clubs are taking an interest in Estupinan on the back of the season he is having. I believe the 22-year-old could be a fantastic fit for the Premier League. However, I do not expect Spurs to sign a left-back this summer as I believe the club will prioritise moves in other areas of the pitch.
