It has been well-documented that Spurs are looking to add a centre-half to their squad this summer, with Ange Postecolgou wanting more strength-in-depth at the back.

Guehi is thought to be one of the names on Tottenham’s radar, with Dean Jones reporting in Sports Lens a couple of months ago that the Lilywhites are one of six clubs eyeing a move for the Palace star.

He explained that they are joined by Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for the England international, who is allegedly valued at around £60m.

Last month, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold also backed up Tottenham’s interest in Guehi, explaining that the North London side have been watching the 23-year-old for a long time.

Marc Guehi wants a summer transfer

If Sports Zone’s latest update is to be believed, Guehi has now made it clear that he wants to leave Selhurst Park this summer.

The report makes no mention of Spurs, stating that Man Utd are ‘very interested’ in the defender while Liverpool and Chelse are also ‘monitoring’ his situation.

Finally, the outlet explains that the Eagles star’s preference is to remain in the Premier League rather than move abroad.

Spurs Web Opinion

While it is clear that the Tottenham hierarchy have been fans of Guehi for a long time, he is not a realistic target at the moment.

Postecoglou is only looking for further cover at centre-back rather than a readymade starter, which is why it would not make sense for Spurs to shell out around £60m on the Palace man.
