Report: Premier League forward linked with Spurs drops hint about future

If reports in the press are to be believed Tottenham Hotspur are set for a huge spending spree this summer, after failing to sign a single player in the last two transfer windows (The Sun).

While central midfield and full back are likely to be priority positions for the club to address this summer, they might also be looking at the possibility of adding another striker to the squad with Fernando Llorente likely to leave the club this summer.

One striker who Spurs are said to be monitoring is Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez (CalcioNapoli24).

The 25-year-old has been one of the most consistent performers for the Magpies over the last few seasons and is said to be attracting interest from several European clubs.

The Spaniard who netted 13 goals in all competitions last season, has now spoken about his future and hinted at the possibility of leaving Newcastle this summer after five years at the club.

When asked about the speculation surrounding his future Perez told Shields Gazette: “It’s something that I cannot say right now. You cannot guarantee it. We’ll see.

“It’s going to be a long summer. Obviously, there’s going to be a day where you make a decision.

“It depends on many things. Let’s see what happens. Obviously, this place is always going to be in my heart, whatever happens. We’ll see what happens.”

With the club unlikely to offer Fernando Llorente a new deal, it is vital that we sign a forward who can fill in for Harry Kane when required. Perez would fit the bill perfectly as he is versatile and thus capable of covering for several attacking positions.
