The Athletic reveal that Manchester City have held talks over a potential deal for rumoured Tottenham target Eberechi Eze but the Premier League champions are yet to make a concrete move for the Crystal Palace midfielder.

Tottenham like Eberechi Eze
Reports continue to link Eze with a potential move to Spurs as we enter the final few weeks of the transfer window.
The latest outlet to report on the matter was GiveMeSport, who revealed a couple of days ago that Tottenham and Chelsea continue to have an eye on the 25-year-old’s situation.
The report also named City as one to watch out for but revealed that Palace are optimistic about hanging on their star man since he is protected by a release clause, which is allegedly worth an initial £60m plus another £8m in add-ons down the road.

Man City have held talks about Eze
The Athletic have now pointed out that Eze has been a long-term target for City, with the Manchester club ‘seriously considering’ a move for the England man last summer.
The report claims that Pep Guardiola’s men had ‘some informal discussions’ with the Eagles over the midfielder towards the end of last week.
However, the publication adds that City are casting their net ‘far and wide’ and have not finalised their top winger target yet.
Spurs Web Opinion
Amidst City’s indecision, the door is perhaps open for Tottenham to swoop in and agree a deal for the attacking midfielder.
However, having spent £65m on Solanke and another £40m on Gray, perhaps it is wishful thinking to expect the club to shell out another £68m on Eze.
