Report: Premier League rival has £40m bid rejected for Tottenham target

Manchester United have had a bid of £40million rejected by Crystal Palace for their highly-rated right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old still has three years left to run on his contract at Selhurst Park with the club said to value the player at £60million.

Tottenham have also been heavily linked with a move for the England Under-21 defender as a possible replacement for Kieran Trippier (Daily Mail).

Trippier’s future in North London has come under increasing doubt with The Sun previously reporting that Spurs are ready to offload the England international and fellow right-back Serge Aurier this summer.

Ironically, Wan-Bisska made his debut for the Eagles in the midst of an injury crisis against Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park in February 2018 and has not looked back in becoming a regular in Roy Hodgson’s side.

Last season, he played 39 times for Palace in all competitions and provided three assists.

Opinion

Wan-Bissaka is a highly talented player but would represent a significant outlay at £60million. However, if Spurs are looking for a player who can become a mainstay in the side for years to come, it would be a shrewd signing.
